Countdown to Susan G. Komen Walk: 59 Days
Yesterday we went on a long walk around some old stomping grounds, Kensington Maryland.
I miss going to Kensington frequently. While I never lived there myself, I spent a lot of time in that area as a kid and it's a great area to train in.
I realized yesterday I need serious hill work...very serious hill work. I'll be walkin the treadmill on 10 incline because Jonas Mill Road was by far the bitch of our jaunt! I'll show YOU, hill.
But on a serious note, yesterday was the first time I really felt like I can do this walk. I've been optomistic about it since I started raising money, but to be honest I was worried that being as out of shape as I am, walking 60 miles might kill me. But I've been doing longer and longer extended walks and yesterday's was the farthest prolonged walk I've participated in-ever.
Now that's not a lot in the scheme of people that participate in this walk annually, but it's a fairly huge deal for me. SO much so that I have been thinking about continuing physical training to participate in the 5K Half Marathon for Disney in a few years. Could be fun!
